(Ralph Reiley, May 2025) Approved by the Committee for Public Information, the propaganda department that Woodrow Wilson set up 2 weeks after declaring war. The CPI controlled all war information, Bert Underwood was in a special US Army Signal Corps unit that carried out the directives of the CPI, in effect censoring his own business. Pan Chro-Scope published two series of 48 war stereoviews, post card size litho prints of standard Underwood war views.
