Unidentified photographer / artist n.d. Private George Lemon, ex-prisoner of war of the Confederates, survived a complete amputation of his leg at the hip after returning to the Union Joint Pathology Center (JPC) (Army Medical Museum Photographs of Surgical Cases and Specimens, or simply Surgical Photographs 137B).
