Silver salts on paper mounted on linen - Albumen process

(Nora Hague, 28 June 2020) George Charles Arless started his career as an apprentice in the Notman studio, where he learned the art. Like most apprentices he then struck out on his own. His descendants also were photographers. Until recently, one was working for the Montreal Gazette.
