This was possibly taken at the nearby fishing village of Newhaven, which provided ample subject matter for Hill & Adamson. Their un-published volume on this series has recently been brilliantly re-created by Stevenson. Although taken out of doors to take advantage of the sunlight, it proved too difficult for these women to hold the pose. Still, the motion is visually intriguing.The negative has been waxed for printing and is inscribed in pencil "304" and in ink "116C".
