1860 (ca)
Journalist Louis-Auguste Commerson

Carte de visite
Bazar Nadar / Wouter Lambrechts
An unusual and signed portrait made by Félix Nadar of journalist Louis-Auguste Commerson, ca. 1860. In the summer of 1850, Nadar started a profitable association with Commerson who published the satirical weekly, Tintamarre.

This portrait is like a photographic caricature.

The CDV was printed from the original glass negative on silver gelatine paper by Paul Nadar, who signed the print as "P. Nadar" with dark ink in the lower right corner.
