Research Notes - Buhkujjenene (circa 1815-1900) was an Ontario Ojibwe ('Chippeway') man, the chief at Garden River, Ontario; he was also known as Henry Buhkwujjenene. He was associated with Rev. E. F. Wilson's mission. Buhkujjenene travelled to England with Rev. Wilson in 1872, to help raise funds for the mission. 'Several likenesses were taken - representing him as a Christian Chief in his ordinary dress; and as a Chief of former days in feathers and Indian costume': K.
