Andreas Groll, considered a prominent photographer of architecture, opened a studio in Vienna in 1857. In 1865 he published an extensive catalog of his works for sale. He exhibited in Paris (1855) and Vienna (1864) and was included in the seventh Exposition of the Société française de photographie (1865). Groll produced industrial landscapes and ethnographic costume studies, as well as the famous documentation of the Ambraser Collection of Arms. He worked primarily in Poland, Austria-Hungary and southern Germany and documented the architecture and cities of these areas. This is a rare signed print by the photographer.
