Affixed to the original mount, with Throssel's signature and date, in pencil, and his embossed amphora-shaped seal on mount recto, with the numbers "6838" and "1907" on print recto; in the original frame.
 
Born of French Canadian Cree Indian descent, Throssel was adopted by the Crow Tribe in 1905 and given the name Esh Quon Dupahs ("Killed Inside the Camp"). His photographs are housed at the American Heritage Center of the University of Wyoming.
