The nearby fishing village of Newhaven provided ample subject matter for Hill & Adamson. Their un-published volume on this series has recently been brilliantly re-created by Stevenson. The difficulties of long exposures and shallow depth of field are evident here, yet the photograph remains quite evocative. This negative is waxed and is inscribed in pencil "u.70" and "16".
