Ambrotype shows Murray minus his usual beard with two other Englishmen, and behind them a group of Indian natives with turbans and caps. One of the Indians is holding a book of prints. Probably taken when Murray was first assigned to India (very early 1850s; the ambrotype was in use in England as early as 1851).
