Bromoil print Provided by the artist - Maija McDougal "It is an image I had taken not long after I had become seriously interested in photography, in the days when the camera was pointed in any direction and every image in the viewfinder looked like a masterpiece to me. I soon learnt the truth. One was lucky if one could find one or two promising or useful images amongst the 36 exposures on the contact sheet. Several decades later I felt it was a worthy image to work on and to be included in my Fellowship panel, "On the Edge of the Abstract"." (Maija McDougal, August 2006)
