(David Mattison, 8 July 2025) Victoria's Frederick Dally (1838-1914) not only managed to capture and note the existence of the town water cart on Government Street, but also behind it the Victoria Theatre Photographic Gallery (the building with the triangular pediment; the words "Photographic Gallery" are visible on each side of the pediment). BC Archives Item A-03021 (HP008720); also in at least two Dally albums in the BC Archives: album 3 (page annotated by Dally) and album 7 (photo very faded). This is a screen shot from album 3. Dally did not comment on the photo gallery.
