"My mother spent the last years of her life in an assisted living home just outside of Pawley's Island, South Carolina. I visited her there often as I have a summer cottage some thirty miles north of Pawley's Island. On the tiled porch of the home were several rocking chairs and my mother and I would relax there on occasions. One day while visiting I noticed the graphic quality of the shadows the rockers made on the tille floor. Fortunately I had brought along my camera and this print is a rendition of the scene that I had admired. " (Gene Laughter, August 2006)
