Do you ever photograph dead persons?

"Do you ever photograph dead persons?"

"Parents whose children die before their pictures are taken often ask a photographer to come to the house, and they want the picture to look as natural as life. Skill is required, of course. Once when I was called in I saved a man's life. When I pulled up the eyelid to drop a little collodion to keep the eyelids firm there was a tremor and a resistance. The man was in a trance, and he soon came out of it."
