GIERS'S PHOTOGRAPHIC STUDIO.

Mr. C. C. Giers, Nashville, Tcnn., has just recently made some very important changes in his establishment, and has sent us a sectional view of it completed, for the benefit of our readers.

The various departments of the gallery are as follows :

An exhibition-room, which is on the ground floor. There are two large show windows in front, and the walls inside are hung with hundreds of specimens of photographic art. B is a sitting-room; C and D are artists' rooms; E, ladies' dressing-room; F, hall; G, stairs to operating-room; H, framing-room; KK, operating-room; L, chemical-room; M, photograph printing-room; N N N, three dark-rooms; P, gentlemen's dressing-room; E, stock-room; S S, offices; V, skylight over artists' room; W, large skylight for operating-room, 25 feet wide by 16 long, with two side-lights extending from floor to ceiling, enabling the artists to take pictures in any kind of weather. The walls outside, near the skylights, and inside are painted blue, giving a soft, mellow tone to the light. Mr. Giers's pictures range from the smallest dimensions to full life size. In addition to his facilities afforded at his gallery, he has lately fitted up a movable apparatus for photographing views of buildings, grounds, public processions, &c. One of his large instruments enables him to take a group of from 75 to 100 persons in one picture at one sitting.

The reputation of Mr. Giers's photographs and other works of art is well established in Nashville, and we are glad to see so much enterprise displayed by him. The fact of the matter is it is only the enterprising who succeed nowadays. Go thou, and do likewise.
