This was possibly taken at the nearby fishing village of Newhaven, which provided ample subject matter for Hill & Adamson. Their un-published volume on this series has recently been brilliantly re-created by Stevenson. The two women are able to support each other during the long exposure, which might have been the better part of a minute, in spite of the sunlight. This negative has been waxed and retouched in pencil. It is inscribed in pencil "304" and in ink "121A".
