Handwritten inscription on the back of the print reads, "Columbia River 10 Miles from the Dalles." The print has also been published as, "Lyle on the Columbia." This photograph has been attributed in publications to both Sarah Hall Ladd and Lily E. White. Signed, "S. H. L.," in the lower right corner of the print.
