Freeman (Sydney, Australia) 1850s Mother and Children
Daguerreotype, 1/2 plate NGV - National Gallery of Victoria (Alex Novak): The hand signature of Freeman/Sydney with stylus on plate is uncommon added feature. Signature is very nicely placed on pedestal, as a painter might have signed a painting. The pose is simply wonderful with five children artistically posed all around their mother.
