Weniger Lärm

Poster, photomontage
50 x 35 3/4 ins, 127 x 90 3/4 cm

Swann Galleries - New York
Sale 2414, Graphic Design, 10 May 2016, lot: 206

J. Müller-Brockmann, Zürich.

In the same style as the previous lot, Joseph Müller-Brockmann designed another powerful image for a different public campaign launched by the Swiss Committee to Combat Noise. He employs a close-up black and white photograph as the basis of the design, in which the hard, right angle formed by the red text and the woman's arms sets up a dissonance that accentuates the anguish on her face. This is the German version. Modern Poster 232, Weill 543, La Femme 93, Muller-Brockmann 159, Plakat Kunst p. 155 (var), MoMA 513.1983.
