The nearby fishing village of Newhaven provided ample subject matter for Hill & Adamson. Their un-published volume on this series has recently been brilliantly re-created by Stevenson. This negative was waxed and inscribed in pencil "Newhaven Pier Boats Fishermen" and "u.168". It is the original of a print in the SNPG.
