Hal Roach (director)
1920
Film still from "Get Out and Get Under" (directed by Hal Roach, 00:01:40)

Movie frame
Private collection of Hal Rammel
The Boy (Harold Lloyd) is getting his studio portrait taken (with Bob O'Connor as the photographer), a gift to the girl he hopes to marry. But even the most secure posing-chair and head-brace can't keep him still when a mouse runs up his pant leg. Studio portrait contraptions like these were a common gag in early photographic humor even into the 1920s.
