Linton appears in a number of Hill & Adamson photographs. He is very likely the sitting man in HA771. This is the same image as HA427, but is somewhat stronger in tone. This was almost certainly taken at the nearby fishing village of Newhaven, which provided ample subject matter for Hill & Adamson. Their un-published volume on this series has recently been brilliantly re-created by Stevenson.
