Due to the European Crisis caused by Hitler (invasion of Poland), Roosevelt sent his Under Secretary of State Sumner Welles in early 1940 to Rome, Berlin, Paris and London. In Berlin Welles spoke with Ribbentrop and Hitler. America remained neutral in this war for quite some time but Welles was not at all impressed by Hitler and in this montage Marinus expresses criticism of America's position in this war.
