W.T.I. Faculty

Cabinet card, mixed media
Capitol Gallery
Courtesy of Capitol Gallery (Fall 2007 Auction, #52)

Hilarious cabinet card identified in period ink on the back as W.T.I. Faculty, 1883. A mixed media montage of photographed heads and drawn environment, the image includes such scenes as "keeping your nose to the grindstone." The location or photographer are not identified, but the word Buckeye is prominent in the center suggesting somewhere in Ohio. A man with wings on the top right also carries a sign which reads Terre Haute or bust. In the window on the left there is a hand with finger pointing; inside it reads K.C. The image is in very good condition with a bump to the top left corner. A couple of small spots are visible and the number 27 is written in the far left margin.
