These are mostly 4 ¥" x 6 7/8" plus a few smaller. Various notations and labels, including "Nur fur den Dienstgebrauch!" [For official use only] and "Noch nicht zensiert" [not yet submitted for censorship.] Some with the stamp "Lw. Kriegsberichter-Zug" and the name of the photographer written in in pen or pencil. Some press slugs have been torn off the backs.These have been nicely arranged in a modern album, grouped according to various categories such as "Pilots and their planes," "Hospital visit with officials," "Soldiers with equipment"[includes tanks,] "Athletic meet and large gathering" [30 photographs, includes women's track meet], "Winter in Russia ," [lines of prisoners,] "Stuck in the mud" etc. These generally show the less violent aspects of the war, though a few smaller snapshots are more graphic. There are 146 photographs in all.
