Clarence H. White
1905
Spring (Morning)

Photogravure
National Science and Media Museum
Ref Number: 2003-5001/2/20008

[Curatorial description - National Media Museum - December 2011]

This photograph shows the trademark subtlety of light that White was noted for. The woman carries a large glass sphere. Influenced by the Symbolist art movement, Photo-Secessionist photographers frequently included globes, glass spheres or crystal balls in their compositions.
