Made in 1848 by Vaclav Cifka the 1st official photographer of the Portuguese royal house and a close friend of King Fernando II.
This daguerreotype was made in Sintra, a small town close to Lisbon, and shows the construction works on Pena Palace, a new summer residence of the royal family on the top of Sintra's Hill.
