A portrait format full-plate brown leather case, with a mirror and brass hinged supports for the autochrome, gilt-titled 'Colour photograph by Olive Edis FRPS, Olive Edis patent' to lower mount margin, two hinged flaps with covered push button fasteners, gilt-panelled with Edis 'key' motif to upper lid, two minor worm tracings to leather of upper lid and some scratches to base.
 
This collection has remained in Olive Edis's studio in Sheringham, Norfolk since she died in 1955. In 1914 she patented her autochrome viewer design (No. GB17132 'Viewing Photographs') and examples offered for sale are uncommon.
