Between 1981 - 1987 Bertram Kober studied photography at the Academy of Visual Arts, Leipzig with Prof. Evelyn Richter and Prof. Arno Fischer. He did his postgraduate studies at the Academy of Visual Arts, Leipzig, 1988 - 1990 and now lives and works in Leipzig and Berlin. He has had numerous exhibitions in Houston, Zurich, Paris, Bratislava, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Cologne, Dresden and Leipzig and his work is in significant public collections such as the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs and Government Buildings, Berlin; the Museum of Fine Arts Houston,Texas; the Museum of Visual Arts Leipzig; the Saxonian Ministry of Science and Art, Kunstfonds (Funds for Arts) in Saxony, Dresden and the Zeitgeschichtliches Forum (Contemporary Forum), Leipzig.
