British photographer active in China where he was employed a gas engineer for the Imperial Maritime Customs Service (1870-1889). Between around 1875-1880 he took photographs of the imperial capital of Peking (Beijing) and list of his portfolios were advertised in The Far East magazine published by John R. Black (October 1877 issue).
