Daguerreotypist who gave early demonstration of the process in London in September 1839. The exact identity of St. Croix is not certain as he may have wished to hide his identity. The Science Museum in London holds a Daguerreotype "View of the National Gallery" of which there is a reversed copy photograph in the National Gallery (NG30/1839/1; VF2).
