The Shipler family was the most significant group of photographers in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Founded by James William Shipler (1849-1937) on the Hooper Block in 1890 the business was carried on by his son Harry Shipler (1878-1961), grandson George William ‘Bill ‘ Shipler and great grandson William Hollis Shipler. 100,000 glass plates and negatives made by the family are in the Utah State Historical Society archives.
