Despite its popularity as a tourist destination, early photographs of the small island group of Bermuda are uncommon. This exhibition shows the contents of a extensive album of Bermuda views identified as belonging to "Mrs. Welton Stanford, Locust Grove" and dating to circa 1890. The albumen prints contained in the album are wide-ranging in their subject matter. From the titles given in the negative they would appear to be largely the work of a single, unidentified Bermuda studio.
