Manuscript "Bayard Taylor" at bottom but probably not Taylor's signature. The signature is definitely in ink, not printed on the card. Bayard Taylor (1825-1878) was a noted travel writer. He accompanied the Perry Expedition to Japan from May-September of 1853. This image appears to have been taken a few years after he returned from the Expedition. Front reads "Sarony - 680 Broadway" (New York City).
