The famous spirit photograph by Mumler of Mary Todd Lincoln with the “ghost” image of Lincoln above her head. Mrs.Lincoln did attend a séance in Boston, where she claimed to have felt her dead husband place his hands on her shoulders. This was recreated by Mumler. In this example the ghost figure is hardly visible, though we clearly see the hands on the shoulders. CDV with mount corners slightly clipped, Mumler’s imprint on the verso.
