A rare view taken inside Zojoji by Moser on behalf of the journal - The Far East. An incongruous note is struck by the presence behind the Buddha effigy of a Flemish tapestry, which had been presented to the Shogun as a gift by one of the directors of the Dutch Factory at Deshima during the eighteenth century.
