Author of books on Plains Indian life he also took photographs which became colour slides. The photographs were taken during the few weeks each year when the Plains Indians relived their old ways and the photograph are therefore tinged with nostalgia for a past world.
The Beinecke Library at Yale University has a collection of over 1,400 lantern slides showing the Blackfoot community of northwestern Montana and the surrounding landscapes.
