[4-9] *[William Gunnison Chamberlain] "Photographed by..."; "Published by..."; 1400 Block Larimer till 63, then Larimer NW cor. 15th St. Important, long-active, prolific producer of 700+ CO scy., mining, Indians, disasters, varied coverage in several series such as "Rocky Mountain Scenery", "Mountain Scenery, Colorado", city/rural scy., animals; rare images of NM; some early views on SCMs, later mostly on CMs; photog. for "Mrs. Maxwell's Rocky Mountain Museum Series", stuffed animals/birds on CMs, which she CR in 67; worked with artist J.M. Bagley and pub. many of his paintings in flat stereo format. Some negs sold to Weitfle ~80. B. 15 in IA, first dag. outfit 47; worked Chicago, IL 53-58; opened studio in Denver in 61; 64 opened branch in Central City; son Walter A. Chamberlain, as well as Charles D. Kirkland & Francis D. Storm worked as assts.; retired 91, selling studio to Storm.
