British photojournalist and filmmaker who covered wars and the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean for Christian Aid. The film Restrepo (2010) that he made with Sebastian Junger covered the men of Second Platoon, Battle Company, 173rd Airborne Brigade as they tried to manage a forward base in Afghanistan. Tim Hetherington was killed in Libya in 2011 while reporting on the battles of the Arab Spring.
