German artist and Photographer from Bad Homburg vor der hohe, just north of Frankfurt. He was the son of Johann Friedrich Voigt (1792-1871), the Court Drawing Master for the House of Hesse-Homburg. The Voigt Studio, located at 61 Kaiser Friedrich Promenade, Bad Homburg was also the family home until the 1950's. The Studio was Specially Appointed as royal photographers for The Emperor and King of Prussia, The King of Spain, The Prince of Wales, The King of Serbia, The Queen of England and India, as well as others. After the death of T.H. Voigt in 1888, his second wife Louise, remarried Mr. Hatzig, and they continued to run the studio into the 1900's, even expanding to a second location in Frankfurt.
The Gothic House Museum in Bad Homburg has collected works from both father and son. Additionally, T.H. Voigt photographs are held at the George Eastman House, Rochester, NY and the U.S. Library of Congress, along with the private collection of Chris Brenner, the Great Great Grandson of Thomas Heinrich Voigt.Preparing biographies
