Dates: | 1918, 27 November - 2006, 30 December | Active: | US | A Chicago bellhop who claimed to be able to produce Polaroid photographic images by placing a paper tube, that he called gizmo, with a camera to his forehead and used his psychic powers. These "thoughtographs" originally had supporters such as Denver psychiatrist Dr. Jule Eisenbud who authored a book in 1967 on them. Most were sceptical and his images were found, perhaps unsurprisingly, to be fraudulent.
