He studied photography at Camera Obscursa in Haifa and was a photographer in the Israeli army for three years. His work has been shown in both group and solo exhibitions internationally and is included in several private collections. Artist statement: A recent mission to Mars sent back to Earth amazingly clear photographs of the planet’s landscape. These images were immediately shared by the world’s media the second they arrived on our planet. My work is consistently based on familiar images that everybody sees regularly which are then sometimes manipulated and always offered in a new light. Such visual alteration can be a catalyst for change in mental perspective.
Those illuminated Martian landscapes lying beneath absolute black skies gave birth in my mind to a shiny red urbanism; to my city of Tel Aviv; to the special atmosphere that lurks within the boundaries of day and night. This vital area of separation and connection plays a key role in the construction of the finished work.
Below, the artificial ephemera of our world.
Above, the natural eternity of the universe.Preparing biographies | | Portraits If you have a portrait of this photographer or know of the whereabouts of one we would be most grateful. alan@luminous-lint.com |
