Currently thought to have produced the first photographic images, photograms, taken by a woman. Research by Larry Schaaf on a photograph in the collection of Jill Quasha, which came up for an 2015 Sotheby's auction, led to the conclusion that it was by Sarah Anne Bright. The handwritten initials "S.A.B." on a photogram of a leaf, which was the same as on her watercolours, proving the connection.
