He studied at the Institute of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (Instituto de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas) and was a student of Manuel Alvarez Bravo. The surrealist influences of Bravo come through in his series "La Venus se fue de juerga" in which a dummy travels through Mexico City. During the 1950s he worked as a photojournalist with his focus on the common people of Mexico City.Preparing biographies
