American fine art photographer, painter and teacher. Artist statement: "I make pictures which are meant to be direct and truthful.
I do not explain or rationalize this work or my passion for it.
I leave it to the viewer to find the surprises.
I hope the work generates feelings; otherwise I have failed."

Kim Weston
Kim Weston is a third-generation member of one of the most important and creative families in photography. He has been a fine art photographer for over 30 years. Kim learned his craft assisting his father Cole, in the darkroom making gallery prints from his grandfather Edward's original negatives. Kim also worked for many years as an assistant to his uncle Brett, whose bold, abstract photographs rank as some of the finest examples of modern photographic art.
Kim creates his own photographs using innovative sets he designs and constructs in his studio at Wildcat Hill. Specializing in the human form, his main body of work consists of contact prints made from 8x10 negatives. In addition to the 8x10 format he prints 11x14 and 16x20 sizes. He also prints in Platinum, and now offers "Painted Photograph's." A fun process in which he colors on his silver prints with colorful pastels, watercolors and pencils. Kim is a prolific photographer and this year has begun photographing with the Mamiya RB 67.
He also shares his passion, artistry and unique photographic vision with a select group of participants at workshops held at Wildcat Hill, Edward Weston's former home in the Carmel Highlands and also teaches in Mexico, Scotland and other locations.
"Kim has had numerous exhibitions of his work throughout the United States and Europe."
