Ken Rosenthal received his MFA in Photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Fascinated by the power of photographs to effect perception and even create false memories, Ken uses negatives from his family archives to create images that resonate with people on a more universal level. Ken has exhibited his work in both group and solo shows since 1990. His photographs are in many private and public collections internationally, including the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, National Portrait Gallery London, Portland Art Museum, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Since 2001, Ken’s work has been published and reviewed in numerous magazines including Camera Arts (Nov/Oct 2005), fotoMagazin (Oct. 2004), Black and White Magazine (Jan/Feb 2003), Southwest Art Magazine (Oct. 2004), and SHOTS Magazine (Issues #86, 79, 76, and 73). He has received many honors including the Print Collectors Program Artist for both Texas Photographic Society and the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, CA (2005), Honorable Mention TPS 13 (2004), and Reviewer Picks Review Santa Fe/Santa Fe Center for Visual Arts (2002).
