painter; issued "White Mountain Scenery";
"Scenery of the Allegheny Mountains and
Pennsylvania Central R. R."; "Landscape Studies
in Pennsylvania"; etc.; many fine scenics of
PA, NH, Phila. Sanitary Fair 64, rare glass
views of Phila. scy., etc.; #s to 700s, but
uncommon and often badly faded. Was expedition
photog. with Comm. Selfridge to Isthmus of
Darien, Panama 71; with US astronomers to South
Africa & Tasmania to observe transit of Venus,
74. Active in Photographic Society of Phila.;
contributor to "Phila. Photographer". Career
locations uncertain but based largely in Phila.;
briefly in Rome, PA; may have been based briefly
in Boston. Both early (44-59) & late (85+) life
largely unknown, D. 03. Used variety of card
formats from yellow/yellow SCMs to orange/pink
