Names: | | Dates: | 1814, 27 August - 1896, April | Born: | England, Nottinghamshire, East Retford | Active: | UK | Creator of microphotograph slides of around 150 photographic curiosities on glass slides between 1859 and 1862. A gentleman of diverse occupations in the 1861 census he considered himself to be a "photographer". At the London Exposition (1862) he exhibited eleven photographs of London's "principal buildings" along with microphotographs. Known for his series of micrograph slides "London in Miniature - A Photographic Curiosity for the Microscope" which have "JS" labels.
