[6-7] *"Photographed by...". Most prolific,
best and longest-surviving producer of Catskills
scy. "Catskill Mountain Scenery", earliest
series in 60s had small paster labels on back;
those with B/Ls made later, to as high as
Seventh Series. Covered all common Catskills
photogenic sights, plus many uncommon ones.
Many B/Ls, ~300 images, but changed #s, titles &
images frequently, so it's difficult to assess his complete output. Also issued "Lake Mohonk
Scenery", BL, #'s to 58. "Sailors' Snug Harbor
Series" is only set seen of his Staten Island
residence area. Son was prob. A. Loeffler.
Member of the American Stereoscopic Exchange
Club, 67-69. Imprint also seen as "& Son".
