Publisher" [on card bearing C.E. Watkins logos];
26 Montgomery St. Photos uncommon, were same
topics as Watkins'. Advanced the money for
Watkins to start his Yosemite Art Gallery in 71;
by 75, Watkins was way behind in his payments
and Cook foreclosed; pub. Watkins's
stereographs briefly before many of the negs
passed into the hands of I.W. Taber; B. NY 38;
settled in CA ~63 when he ran several businesses
in the Merced area. View photog. after the
Watkins foreclosure until 83, but seems to have
done only a small amount of original work; had
showrooms at #1 Montgomery St.; 83-04 was active
in Yosemite as a hotel keeper; during the late
90s, served as vice-president of I.W. Taber &
